I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 63:8 "My soul clings to You, O Lord; Your right hand upholds me. . ."
TIMOTHY IS HOME! The first 24 hours were the roughest and we had to deal with 2 emergency situations when we got home. We are so thankful to the LORD for giving us strength and wisdom. All is well now (and fixed, hopefully). Timothy is already comfortable and now it's mommy & daddy's turn! And I'm exhausted, so I'm turning in for the night. Thanks for your continued prayers.
Following are some photos to share a little of our homecoming event with you.
Actual Age: 7 months (219 days we visited that hospital :)
Adjusted Age: 3 months
Weight: 8 lbs. 0 ounces
19 1/2 inches long
One big happy family (well, ok, Dr. Parikh might not technically be family, but she sure has been an important person in our lives!)
Spending some final moments with my doctor. She took such good care of me
OK, I'm ready to go out into the big, bright world!
Leaving the NICU for the last time - this time, WITH our son!
Loading the car was a pretty big undertaking!
Unloading the car - we bought a 4x4 wagon (daddy's toy :) to help cart all Timothy's equipment.
My first suctioning at home...we didn't even make it in the door before I needed some help. (Notice, we are on the front porch.)
Finally...chillin' at home in my new bed, surrounded by my friends!

Timothy is home! He arrived home just before 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday). Please pray for Timothy and his mom and dad as they start on this long journey. They must deal constantly with equipment, oxygen, monitors, medications, etc. Pray for peace, wisdom, endurance, times of restfulness, and strength for all that lies ahead.

Psalm 18:2 " The Lord is my Rock, and my Deliverer, my God, my Rock in whom I take refuge; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation, my Stronghold."
We certainly are leaning on all these characteristics of God right now as we prepare for Timothy to come home. There is much to be done and a lot of emotions we are working through. How wonderful it is to have a God who cares for us and is able to support us through it all!
Actual Age: 7 months
Adjusted Age: 3 months

Timothy will be coming home on Thursday! Jon and I spent ALL DAY Monday at the hospital (13 hours)! We were practicing using all the equipment that Timothy will need as well as taking care of him ( in place of the nurses). Needless to say we were exhausted when we got home that night. There are lots of details that still need to be settled before he comes and some that are just going to have to wait until he gets home. It's going to be a BIG adjustment period. One thing that will be helpful is that we will have home nursing care for 16 hours a day, although that is going to be an adjustment as well (getting used to having someone else in our home).
Timothy is
doing very well. He is feeding from the bottle a little better and still wakes up several times during the day to play and interact. He sleeps through the night.
His blood count was a little low yesterday so he received one last
blood transfusion to bulk him up before he comes home.
Praise - Thursday's homecoming is a reality!
- God is moving and putting all the things in place (along with a little leg work from mommy & daddy) that need to happen so Timothy can come home
- the miracle of Timothy's life
Prayer - He is requiring more oxygen than the doctor anticipated. Pray that he will be able to be weaned to a lower level of oxygen in the hospital before he comes home; also, that he would adjust to being home and continue to be weaned from the oxygen soon
- strength for mommy & daddy; 2 nights of good rest before he comes home
