Jeremiah 17:7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD."
We are definitely trusting God with the future of Timothy's little life.

We were
discharged from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after the doctor checked Timothy's eye. He said it looked good with regard to what he expected to see post-surgery. He
had to take the lens out of the left eye but replaced it with an oil bubble which will act as a lens to some degree and still allow him to have some vision in that eye. He also
removed some scar tissue around the area, but was unable to remove as much as he would have liked because it was too closely attached to the retina. His eye is a little swollen and we have 4 different eye drops to give 4 times each a day.
The doctor has done all he can do now with regard to the
anatomy of the left eye. It is definitely
compromised and will probably need extra help with corrective lenses (glasses).
On a positive note, he said the right eye looks very good (and will probably be his favorite side as his vision develops).
We are trusting God for the outcome of Timothy's vision and how his development is affected. He has faithfully brought us this far and we know that He continues to have a good plan for Timothy.
Praise - they were able to put the IV in on the 2nd try during surgery while he was under the anesthesia so he did not feel pain
- the surgery was quick with no other complications
- we are very glad to be home!
Prayer - healing of the left eye and preservation of sight
- he is still very gassy as a response to the anesthesia so he is kind of uncomfortable and irritable. pray that his system would get back to normal soon! :)
- we have some concerns about his lungs - he is requiring more oxygen than usual and his secretions are thicker and a little discolored - both can be signs of infection; however, he has no fever or other signs of infection. please pray that there will be no infection or lung complications
Quick surgery update: Timothy came out of surgery just after 4 p.m. The doctor said the surgery went well. They had to remove the lens from his left eye, but they replaced it with an "oil bubble" that will give him sight in that eye. Please pray for mom and dad as this was not the result they were expecting and they are a little shaken. The doctor will check his eye tomorrow and if everything looks good, everyone will be coming home tomorrow evening. Thanks for your continued prayers!!
Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 "
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven - A time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uroot what is planted; A time to kill and
a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build up.

Timothy goes in to
surgery tomorrow,
Tuesday, Sept. 7th at 1:30 pm. at CHLA. We believe this is going to be time of healing for his left eye as the cataract will be removed and any other issues the doctor sees will be corrected. He will be staying overnight so the doctor can check the eye the following day. Then it is our prayer, that he will be discharged on Wed.
Praise - the surgery is being done in a timely manner to try to save his vision
- he has remained healthy over the last 2 weeks so the surgery can go on as planned
Prayer - he will
need an IV and it is extremely difficult for the nurses to find good veins on him. please pray that they will find a good one on the first try and get the IV in sucessfully so he does not have to undergo multiple (painful) pokes.
- only
one parent is allowed to stay overnight in the room with the baby so we're not sure yet where one of us will be staying
