Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 145: 8-10 "The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works. All Thy works shall give thanks to Thee, O Lord, and Thy godly ones shall bless Thee."

We pray with Timothy each night before we go to bed and we thank the Lord for the precious gift of this little life which he has entrusted to us and for all that He has and is accomplishing in his little life.

Actual Age: 11 months today!
Adjusted Age: 7 months
Weight: 12 lbs. 15 oz.
Length: 22 1/4 inches

We had a great visit yesterday with the pulmonologist, respiratory therapist, nutritionist, and GI doctors. Timothy's lungs are doing very well and the pulmonologist was able to decrease some of his medications as a result. We spoke with the GI doctor regarding his tonsils and difficulty taking fluids by mouth. She wants to have an evaluative test called a swallow study done in order to help determine what is happening and how we can help to correct the issue. This will probably occur sometime in the next 2 months.

Thank you so much to all of you who have been keeping updated, and especially to those of you who have been keeping us in your prayers. Timothy is doing very well and Jon and I desire to give God all the glory for what has happened in his life up to now and for whatever the future may hold. For those of you who are in the area, we would like to invite you to a special dedication in his honor on:

We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) with the pulmonologist, nutritionist, and GI doctors. We will be discussing several important issues regarding medications, his tonsils, and referrals to other specialists.

Timothy is growing and changing every day. He is so interactive and smiles and laughs all the time! What a blessing it is!

Praise - it looks like our nursing company has found someone who will be able to help us on the weekends
- Timothy has remained healthy up to this point

Prayer - for a positive, productive doctor's appt. on Tuesday
- for healing and continued development of his brain, eyes, lungs, heart, kidneys
