Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 94:19 "When my anxious thought multiply within me, Your consolations, O Lord, delight my soul."

What a comfort it is to us know that God cares for us and gives us encouraging promises in the Bible for times when we are anxious about our current circumstances or about what the future holds.

Weight: 15 lbs. 15 oz.!!!!! WHAT A LITTLE CHUB!

We are so thankful for how Timothy continues to grow and develop each day. February was a very busy month for us with multiple doctor's appointments every week, but things are settling down now and March looks to be very calm - only 1 or 2 appointments each week (well, I certainly can't complain of boredom :)

One big event that will be coming up in the next month or two is another minor surgery. Timothy has a scar from a previous surgery and part of it just isn't healing so his pediatric surgeon wants to correct it surgically. Basically they will "re-cut" (that's the technical term:) the site and pull the skin together to make a brand new scar. He will be under anesthesia, but will hopefully be able to come home the same day if all goes well. This is definitely our prayer.

Praise - He has made it through 3 colds since December and none of them have progressed to secondary infections or required doctor's visits or hospitalizations
- he now has 3 teeth that are cutting and is awaiting the 4th - a bit of info: his teeth are colored very darkly, almost black. This is called staining and is probably due to his early exposure to so many antibiotics and other medications. Hopefully, his permanent teeth will develop without the staining (also another prayer).

Prayer - strength for mommy and daddy on the weekends, we still don't have a regular night nurse and now we are in need of a day nurse on the weekends as well.
- that the bureaucratic tape would be waded through so that his physical and occupational therapy can begin soon
