Psalm 4:1 & 3 "Answer me when I call, O God . . . You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer. . . The Lord hears when I call to Him."
Having a personal relationship with God is such a comfort in times of distress like we have been through in the past 15 months. It gives us hope and peace to know that we can talk to Him about what is happening in our lives and He listens to us. Not only does He listen to us, but He planned what is going on and He takes care of us through the hard times because of our relationship with Him.We saw the doctor who monitors Timothy's growth and hormones (endocrinology) yesterday. He said that all of his tests are normal so he will only need to see Timothy about once year! It has been such a great relief over the last month to have 3 doctors tell us that there is no need for us to follow-up with them anymore! This will free up our schedule for physical and occupational therapy appointments.
Several of you have asked how Timothy is faring with his new glasses. Well, he loves them! except the putting on part. He always fusses as we are putting them on, but once they're there he stops. He tolerates them very well and when he's wearing them (which is most of the time he's awake) he makes more eye contact, turns his head to look at things, and studies his environment. We realized that prior to getting his glasses he really functioned like a blind baby, relying on his hands and ears to experience the world. Now that he has his glasses we are having to "retrain his brain" to use his eyes more. So there wasn't an immediate change in behavior, but over time, his habits are changing and new behaviors are developing as his world opens up.
Praise - he now has 4 teeth (2 on top and 2 on the bottom)!
- we finally have appointments next week to get his physical and occupational therapy started
Prayer - that God would provide just the right therapists to work with Timothy and us
- healing of the left eye retina - it is still detached which makes the possibility of vision highly unlikely
