Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 5:11 "Let all who take refuge in You, O Lord, be glad. Let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You."

Just wanted to update you on our last 2 appointments.

1. ENT (ear, nose, throat) - The doctor looked down his throat with a special scope and now he thinks that there is enough space between the end of the trach tube and the lungs, so he is waiting to change to the customized trach tube. We go back in 4 weeks and he will decide what to do then.

2. A procedure was done today to analyze what is happening in his kidney. The IV insertion went ok, although they didn't get a line to work until the 3rd poke. But Timothy was a real trooper and he slept through the rest of the procedure. We will discuss the results with the doctor next Wednesday.

Please pray for wisdom for us and for the doctors that we will see next Wednesday and the following Tuesday. Timothy has been experiencing some puffiness that needs to be addressed by one or both of them.

Check out the "new pictures" link in the upper right corner of the site. There are new pictures in the April and May albums!

Quick update:
- We have an ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor's appt on Tuesday.
- Wednesday, Timothy is scheduled for a procedure which will give the doctor's more info regarding his kidney. This test will involve an IV. Please pray that they are able to get a good line on the first try and that it will not be too traumatic or uncomfortable for Timothy!
