Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Friday July 22, 2005 marked the one year anniversary of Timothy's homecoming! It's amazing to think of all that God has done in our lives during the past year! He's brought us all a long way and there is still much more ahead!

We have had an exciting breakthrough this last week - Timothy has begun eating by mouth again and loving it! We have had positive feedingsevery day for the last 10 days. He is up to 1 tablespoon twice a day (and for him, that's a good amount). He still receives the rest of his necessary calories from formula given through his tummy tube.

Praise - His doctor's appt. last week went well. She decreased his breathing treatment medications to twice a day
- he is enjoying food

Prayer - we have an eye doctor's appt. in LA tomorrow (Wed. July 27). we are praying that he will see improvement in the left eye anatomy
- the lung doctor did not decrease the Lasix (diuretic) and we are a little concerned about his hydration. pray for health for Timothy and wisdom for us as we make decisions and speak with doctors
