Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 37:4-5 " Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it."

Thank you to those of you who lifted us up in urgent prayer last week! Timothy had a magnificent turn-around on Wednesday afternoon. There was really no explanation for his breathing difficulties, although we have several theories. We were able to get him antibiotics just in case something was brewing. He is back to normal now and feeling great!

We had our first official family outing that wasn't a trip to the doctor's, grandma's or church. On Monday we went to Oak Glen. We looked at apples and visited the animal park and petting zoo. It was a wonderful day! Check out the photos in the October album!

Wanted to update you on Timothy's eating habits - He is now eating 1-2 4 oz. jars of baby food 2-3 times a day. Boy, has he come a long way in 3 months! Now that he's getting the hang of it, he really seems to enjoy this eating thing. He still doesn't suck, but he will drink from a sippy cup if you pour the liquid into his mouth. Another amazing development!

Praise - positive report from the kidney doctor
- we were able to get antibiotics and treat his breathing difficulties at home
- he is taking food and liquids by mouth consistently

Prayer - healing/strengthening of his lungs
- healing of his left eye - our appointment with the ocularist regarding a potential prosthesis was postponed until December
- continued development and strengthening of his muscles, particularly his upper body and torso and right arm
