Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

Psalm 40:7 "Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me; Thou art my help and my deliverer. Do not delay, O my God."

Well August is almost over and we don't have any big changes to report, which is good. Life has been rolling along at a nice normal pace.

We will be beginning physical and occupational therapy in Palm Springs in Sept or Oct. That will mean an hour drive (round trip) 2 days a week. We are excited about being a part of this new program however, and as long as Timothy continues to show progress, he can receive therapy services from this organization until he's 21 years old! It's nice to know that we won't be losing services when he turns 3. Our meeting in July went very well and we found out that the school district will work to provide the other necessary services, such as vision.

We have been working to wean him off the oxygen and we hope to have him off completely in the next month!

September will be a big month for Dr. visits. We will touch base with his lung doctor, ENT, kidney doctor, and GI doctor. We will also be doing some blood lab work and having a kidney ultrasound.

Praises - Timothy is making great progress in his physical therapy sessions
- He is interacting socially with familiar adults
- He remains a happy, joyful part of our family

Prayer - He is sick right now, being treated with antibiotics, has a horrible cough, and is pretty miserable. Please pray for quick healing and that whatever bug he has can be successfully treated AT HOME!
- we'd like to see good kidney function reflected by his upcoming tests
- we have ordered a walker for him to begin learning to walk, but there seems to be quite a delay in receiving it; please pray for expediency

PS - 1. we finally posted new pictures on Webshots :)
2. Timothy's little brother or sister is scheduled to arrive mid-January :) Please pray for a healthy full-term pregnancy.
