Timothy James

"Precious to God"

I was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 8th because my amniotic sac was leaking and I had begun to dilate. I was ordered to lie flat on my back until the baby came ( I was due April 2nd!). Well, on Dec. 17th my water broke at 7:15pm and Timothy James decided to come early. He was breech and already on his way out, so the doctor did an emergency C-section and at 10:20 pm he was delivered. He went straight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has been there ever since. Timothy was only 25 weeks along in his development (a "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks) so he still has a lot of growing to do.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

As we come to this season of Thanksgiving, our family has much to rejoice over and be thankful for. We hope you will take a few moments this week to consider the things you are thankful for.

November is national prematurity awareness month (sponsored by the March of Dimes). Because Timothy was born prematurely and has benefitted so much from the many research studies and innovations by this organization, we personally recognize the importance of their work. Timothy has a virtual band account where you can donate to this wonderful organization in his honor. We invite you to visit his site - see the "banding together" link to the right.

November has been a great month for Timothy. He is now completely off oxygen, staying very healthy, growing like a weed, and making huge strides developmentally.

He is working with a wonderful physical therapist who has helped him come such a long way in a year and a half. They work on walking skills (with and without his gait trainer), upper and lower body strengthening, and climbing up and down the stairs (Timothy can now come down the stairs all on his own!)

Check out the new pictures on the "new photos" site link in the upper right corner. The new album is entitled "Fall 2006".

Please pray for continued health for Timothy through the winter season.

PS - baby sister is still "cookin'". Mommy is on complete bedrest but we are at 32 weeks and so far things are going well!
